The Teddy Bear Clinic senior project connected Medical Careers II students with EES first grade students through a hands-on, community-centered learning experience. Seniors designed and facilitated interactive health stations where first graders brought in stuffed animals to “treat” as patients. Activities included basic first aid, PPE, hand hygiene education, and wellness lessons presented in an age-appropriate and engaging way.

The Medical Careers I class enjoyed their flying disc gift cards they earned from participating in a youth awareness focus group, collaborating with NMC public health to find community spaces kids will use and enjoy and dreaming of spaces and events to come.

Automotive 2 students took their annual field trip to New England Central Railroad in St. Albans to see what kind of work is done at the repair facility. The students learned about locomotives, their components, and the work done to repair them. Staff discussed current job openings and wages with them while they were there.

Cold Hollow FBLA hosted the third annual NorahBeads workshops this morning at CHCC.
Students made bracelets to wear and to share, and learned about resources and strategies around mental health and suicide prevention.
Thank you to Susan Jones for this valuable, hands-on experience.

Students from the Human Services & Education and the Medical I students worked with Voices Against Violence to create t-shirts for the Clothesline Project. The Clothesline Project is designed to increase awareness of the impact of interpersonal violence, to celebrate strength and resiliency and to provide a means to break through the silence that often surrounds interpersonal violence.

Please join us.

All of this week students in Automotive, Construction & Medical have been electively competing in the Vermont SkillsUSA competitions in their fields. We had 27 students in 14 out of 60 state competitions with 17 technical centers competing.
Most competitions doors are sealed and advisors are not allowed in. Diesel allowed advisors in, but they could not interact with the students. Here are a few pictures from that competition.....
