🅵🅴🅱🆁🆄🅰🆁🆈 is 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 & 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 month!

𝐂𝐇𝐂𝐂 students organized a 𝗠𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗹𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄 to engage middle schoolers in 𝘽𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙛𝙞𝙚𝙡𝙙, 𝙀𝙣𝙤𝙨𝙗𝙪𝙧𝙜, 𝘽𝙚𝙧𝙠𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙧𝙚, 𝙍𝙞𝙘𝙝𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙙, 𝙈𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙜𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙧𝙮, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙎𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙙𝙤𝙣 with hands-on challenges connected to each of our programs.

Ella is a Forestry & Natural Resources II student who started at CHCC in PreTech as a 10th grader.

She plans to study Agricultural Science at SUNY Morrisville in the fall. Ella appreciates that she's received so much support from her teachers, which has made a big difference in her confidence and growth.

Ella is proud to have represented CHCC at FFA Nationals.

🅵🅴🅱🆁🆄🅰🆁🆈 is 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 & 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 month. 𝐂𝐇𝐂𝐂 is excited to spotlight one student each school day this month. ᴊʜᴀɪʀᴇɴ is a Medical Careers I student. She says 𝐂𝐇𝐂𝐂 is preparing her through hands-on skills, workplace expectations, and problem solving. According to Jhairen, CHCC is more like a job in terms of the learning environment and expectations.

𝓐𝓾𝓫𝓻𝓲𝓪𝓷𝓷𝓪 is an Automotive Technology II student.
Her background at Habitat for Aviation combined with her experience at 𝐂𝐇𝐂𝐂 is giving her a foundation to pursue a degree in Aerospace Engineering at Clarkson University this fall.
She loves the hands-on learning and being able to explore colleges and careers at 𝐂𝐇𝐂𝐂.

𝐄𝐥𝐢 is a PreTech student who is exploring career opportunities in the trades. He is also considering getting his CDL and starting a trucking company. No matter what his future holds he says that he enjoys the different opportunities he and his classmates get to explore in PreTech including soils, dairy, cooking, and many others that help students decide what they want to do. 𝘽𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙤𝙣 is an Automotive Technology I student.

Although he is considering a career in law enforcement, Brandon chose Auto as a way to build technical skills in an area of personal interest.
He says 𝐂𝐇𝐂𝐂 is giving him confidence and preparedness for his future. Of course, employability skills like professionalism and confidence are transferable!

On Thursday February 5th, 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡 students competed against 70 other 𝐅𝐅𝐀 students in the state in their Dairy Foods competition. Their hard work and preparation paid off because they 𝐖𝐎𝐍!
𝟏𝟎 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝟏𝟎 with a few tied. All students did very well in general.

𝙈𝙮𝙖 is a Medical Careers II student. She is planning a career in nursing. In the fall she'll be off to college to earn her RN and then plans to be a Labor & Delivery nurse. Mya is excited to start co-oping this semester.

Nim is a student in PreTech. She is currently exploring opportunities in both the fields of education and mechanics. Hands-on learning combined with field trips, and career exploration have been particularly valuable to Nim.

𝟑𝟏 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 electively signed up to compete this April at the 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬𝐔𝐒𝐀 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞.
🚧This is completely out of their comfort zone but that's what it's all about! You can't get ahead in life taking the easy road...the road that lays in front of you without taking any side roads and detours and yes, hitting a couple of potholes along the way. 🏅The rewards are along the journey.

Cassidy Shantie is a student in Human Services II. She credits her time at CHCC with helping her to identify future goals and have work-based learning opportunities to network and gain experience in the field while she is still in high school. She plans to continue her education at CCV and earn a degree in Behavioral Science.
